About us
Sweet and Sour Paperie exists because we think people want to say something nice — or something not-so-nice — but life gets busy. So we made it easier. And more fun.
We started with a simple observation: greeting cards are either aggressively cheerful or so generic they could have been written by a committee of people who have never met a real person. Neither felt right.
Our cards say what you actually mean with a tinge of unhinged. Warm without being saccharine. Funny without being mean. Honest in a way that makes the recipient feel seen — and maybe slightly roasted.
The subscription model came later, when we realized that the people who wanted to send these cards wanted an easy way to do it. Hooray, automation! You pick the vibe, drop the address, and we handle the rest. One month of greetings or digs. Without fail. Unlike most relationships.
We believe in physical mail. We believe that a card that arrives in someone's mailbox — an actual, physical card — carries more weight than a text message, a DM, or a notification that says "thinking of you" in a font you didn't choose.
